{"id":91,"date":"2018-12-16T19:04:33","date_gmt":"2018-12-16T19:04:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/johnclawton.org\/blog\/?p=91"},"modified":"2018-12-21T02:36:50","modified_gmt":"2018-12-21T02:36:50","slug":"homeschool-helps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/johnclawton.org\/blog\/homeschool-helps\/","title":{"rendered":"Homeschool Helps"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Psalm 19:7-10<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>A lot of us can sing these verses; funny how easy it is to remember when you set the words to music. :o)&nbsp; I have found Evan remembers better when I associate something he can picture along with the verse.&nbsp; He must be somewhat of a visual learner; definitely not an audio learner.&nbsp; ;o)&nbsp; I have been teaching Evan about Jesus: Jesus is the bread, the light, the rock, etc.&nbsp; We have started now learning about the Word of God and its importance in our life.&nbsp; We&#8217;ve learned the Word of God is a flashlight (Psalm 119:105), its water (Eph. 5:26), its a treasure box (Proverbs 2:1-6), its sweet as honey to the soul.&nbsp; Best of all, we learn from the above passage it is able to convert the soul and make us wise.&nbsp; I want Evan to truly learn to desire it more than gold.&nbsp; His education isn&#8217;t about making him prepared to make money, but to come to know Christ and be a wise young man, meet for God&#8217;s use.&nbsp; This is my goal as a Mom and seems like such a challenge some days, but I study and pray God gives me wisdom to instill these things in my precious son.<\/p>\n<p>Wishing you ladies a clean house and a nap, and good success in reaching your goals. :o)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-background-color\">\n\t\t\t  <div \n\t\t\t  \tclass = \"fb-comments\" \n\t\t\t  \tdata-href = \"http:\/\/johnclawton.org\/blog\/homeschool-helps\/\"\n\t\t\t  \tdata-numposts = \"10\"\n\t\t\t  \tdata-lazy = \"true\"\n\t\t\t\tdata-colorscheme = \"light\"\n\t\t\t\tdata-order-by = \"reverse_time\"\n\t\t\t\tdata-mobile=true>\n\t\t\t  <\/div><\/div>\n\t\t  <style>\n\t\t    .fb-background-color {\n\t\t\t\tbackground:  !important;\n\t\t\t}\n\t\t\t.fb_iframe_widget_fluid_desktop iframe {\n\t\t\t    width: 100% !important;\n\t\t\t}\n\t\t  <\/style>\n\t\t  ","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.&nbsp; The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
